The movie board spans all three trilogies, from the original trilogy that started in 1977 through the prequels to the Disney-era sequels, with Rogue One and Solo as the two anthology films. Anything newer is yours to add. Making a Star Wars tier list 2026 edition? Add The Mandalorian and Grogu so the franchise's latest film gets ranked with the rest. The 2008 animated Clone Wars film counts too, if your rule is “everything that played in theaters.” The boards save as you go, so re-ranking after a new release means moving a few tiles, not starting over.

Want steadier ranking criteria than “the one I grew up with”? Try rewatchability: which film would you actually put on tonight? Rotten Tomatoes' critic and audience scores and IMDb ratings make a decent sanity check, and The Last Jedi is the usual example of critics and fans pulling in opposite directions. Watch for recency bias with the Disney era, too — the newest film always feels bigger, or worse, than it will in five years.
