You can guess someone's age from whether they answer a joke with a crying-laughing face or a skull. That one split is reason enough for an emoji tier list, and the tray already holds the icons doing real work in your group chats — the fire, the heart, the sob, the eyes, the salute, the shrug — waiting to be sorted into rows.
Frequency is the obvious way to rank them. It's also the least interesting.
Some icons earn their place by meaning six things at once; others survive purely because they land a joke nobody outside the chat would understand. Add your own favorites, retitle the rows to whatever your chat calls them, and the finished emoji ranking drops out as a clean PNG in one click. If you want the mechanics written out, how to make a tier list does that, and there is what S-tier really means for anyone who hands out S a little too freely.
S-tier emoji are muscle memory. You don't pick them; your thumb gets there before you've finished reading the message. Open your recently-used row and look at the first handful — that's the honest answer, whatever you'd claim out loud, and that handful is your S tier emoji. A-tier are the daily regulars that just miss the podium, B and C hold the situational ones that surface a few times a month, and D is reserved for the icons that date a message the second you send it. Frequency is a fine way to rank, but the emoji that last longest are usually the ones that mean four different things depending on who's reading.
