About this template

Rank the Deadlock roster

Every currently playable hero is loaded — 38 of them. Heroes still marked in development or disabled in the game files are deliberately left out, so the tray reflects what you can actually queue into rather than what has been datamined.

That matters more in Deadlock than in a finished game. The roster moves quickly, and half the names circulating in patch notes are not playable yet. When one goes live, add it with + Add items.

New to ranking? How to make a tier list covers the basics, and what S tier means helps once the top row is crowded.

What moves a hero

What actually decides a placement

Deadlock rankings shift faster than almost any game on this site, and it is worth knowing why before arguing with someone else's board.

The game is still changing. It is in active development, so numbers move between patches and a hero can swing several rows in a fortnight. Any ranking is a snapshot, which is exactly why this is a maker rather than a published verdict.

Items matter as much as the hero. A build can turn a mediocre laner into a late-game threat. Ranking heroes without saying which build you assume is where most disagreements start.

Lane versus late game. Some heroes dominate early and fade; others are unremarkable until they come online. A board ranking laning strength and a board ranking late-game impact are different documents, and both are legitimate.

Roles

Ranking by job, not by feel

Deadlock heroes fill overlapping jobs rather than clean classes, but grouping still helps. Some are built to carry and want farm; others exist to enable, and their value shows up in a team-mate's numbers rather than their own.

A third group wins by controlling space — zoning, disruption and objective pressure rather than raw kills. Those are consistently underrated on boards built from personal kill counts.

Rank within each group first, then merge. It is much faster than trying to compare a farm-hungry carry against a support directly, and the result is a board you can explain.
