About this template

Rank the playable NTE roster

Every playable character in Neverness to Everness is on the board — all 20 of them, S-Class and A-Class together, Esper Zero included. Drag them into S through D and build the NTE tier list your own account would back up.

Only released characters are loaded. Announced ones are left off until they are actually playable, which matters in a game this young — NTE launched in April 2026 and is still adding characters every patch.

The game runs on Espers and Arcs rather than a single damage stat, so where a character lands depends heavily on what the rest of your team is doing.

New to ranking? The how to make a tier list guide covers the basics, and what S tier means helps once the top row gets crowded.

What moves a character

What actually decides a placement

A roster this size means every character is competing directly with a handful of others, so placements move for specific reasons rather than vague power.

Esper type decides the comparison. Anima, Chaos, Cosmos, Incantation, Lakshana and Psyche each answer different problems, and being the best option in your weakest type is usually worth more than being the strongest character overall.

Team fit beats solo damage. Characters here combo, so one who enables the rest of the party contributes more than their own numbers show. Supports get underrated on early lists in every game, and NTE is young enough that most of its lists are early ones.

A young game means volatile rankings. Three months in, the meta is still settling and each patch reshuffles it. Say which version you ranked on — it dates the list honestly and saves an argument.

Classes and factions

Grouping before you rank

Sorting first makes even a small board quicker to settle, and it stops the wrong comparisons happening.

By class is the obvious first cut. S-Class and A-Class characters are not pulled on the same terms, so ranking them in one pass tends to produce a list that just restates rarity.

By Esper type is the more useful pass, because it matches how you actually build a team — you are choosing between the options that cover a role, not across the whole roster.

By faction — the Bureau of Anomaly Control, Eibon Antique Shop, Sterry Express, the Dvořák Family and the rest — is worth a pass if you care about story synergy as much as combat.
