About this template

Rank every Tatari in the game

Every Tatari in Clash of Critters is on the board — all 218 of them, from the stage-one critters you meet first through to the fourth-stage forms they become. Drag them into S through D and build the Clash of Critters tier list your own roster would defend.

Evolution lines are all present. Zapup becomes Zapooch, Voltkit runs all the way to Voltreaver, and each stage is its own Tatari with its own kit rather than a costume — so they get their own tiles.

Only interested in what to evolve? Rank the stage-one Tatari and leave the rest in the tray. That is the decision most players are actually making, and the board supports it without forcing it.

New to ranking? The how to make a tier list guide covers the basics, and what S tier means helps once the top row gets crowded.

What moves a Tatari

What actually decides a placement

Clash of Critters mixes tower defence, creature collecting and pinball, so a Tatari can be strong in one of those and unremarkable in the others.

Investment decides more than base power. Star levels and duplicates change what a Tatari can do, so a heavily-fed mid-tier critter routinely outperforms a rare one you pulled once. A board of unbuilt Tatari and a board of maxed ones are different documents.

Evolution is a commitment. Deciding which stage-one Tatari to take up the chain is the real choice in this game, and it is why most tier lists rank stage-one units rather than final forms — the final form is the reward, not the decision.

Defence and raids ask different questions. A Tatari that holds a lane against a Zobo horde is not necessarily the one you want attacking someone else's base. Decide which mode you are ranking for before the first drag.

Types and roles

Grouping before you rank

218 tiles is a lot to face at once. Sorting roughly first, then arguing about the edges, is far quicker than working down the tray.

By type — Fire, Water, Grass, Lightning and Rock — is the fastest cut, and it shows immediately which elements the current meta is kind to.

By role is closer to how teams actually get built: DPS, Tank, Guardian, Support, Healer and Specialist. Ranking a Healer against a DPS is where most disagreements start, and grouping first avoids it entirely.

By stage keeps the comparison fair. A stage-one Tatari and a fourth-stage form are not competing for the same slot, so ranking them in separate passes gives a board that still makes sense a month from now.
