About this template

Rank the trick-or-treat haul

Every October the same argument breaks out over the pillowcase. Full-size bars are king, fun-size is a scam, and someone at the table will always go to bat for candy corn. This Halloween candy tier list maker loads the entire bucket for you: Reese's, KitKat, Snickers, Twix, Skittles, Almond Joy and the Tootsie Rolls nobody ever claimed. The bars you hoarded, the ones you traded three-for-one, the ones still rattling around at Thanksgiving — all of it is on the board already, so nothing needs typing.

Nobody agrees, and nobody ever will. Trade value on the living-room carpet was always a different measure from taste; a full-size Hershey's was worth three fun-size anythings regardless of what you actually thought of it. Rank it however you want, add the regional stuff we missed, recolor the rows, and export the finished Halloween candy ranking as a clean PNG. If tier lists are new to you, how to make a tier list covers the basics, and what S-tier really means is worth reading before you commit anything to the top row.

What counts as an S tier Halloween candy?

S-tier belongs to the candy that never made it into the trading pile, the pieces you quietly moved to your own stash before anyone finished counting. For most people the S tier Halloween candy is chocolate with something going on inside it: peanut butter, caramel, wafer, nougat. A-tier is everything you are genuinely glad to unwrap. B and C hold the wide "sure, I'll eat it" middle. D is whatever is still sitting in the bowl in March, chalky or stale or handed out by the neighbor who bought in bulk back in August. Some people rank on flavor alone; others weigh size, chew and how well a bar survives a week in a plastic pumpkin.
