This Slay the Spire relic tier list loads the relics that actually decide runs — the boss relics you agonise over, the rares that quietly win games, and the commons that carry Act 1. Drag them into S through D and build a ranking based on how your runs really go rather than a generic chart.
Relics are unusually good tier list material because the game is settled — unlike a live-service title, the balance has not shifted under everyone's feet for years, so a relic argument is a real argument rather than a patch-notes race. Vote in the community poll above to see how other players rank them, then export your own board.
Energy is the strongest effect in the game, so relics that hand you an extra energy every turn sit at the top almost regardless of deck — they improve literally every card you own. After that, the hierarchy tends to run:
Snecko Eye and Runic Pyramid are the two boss relics that most reliably define a run, and Dead Branch with a reliable exhaust outlet remains the classic run-breaking combination.
This is the mistake that makes most relic tier lists wrong. Boss relics are more powerful, but nearly all of them carry a genuine cost, and several are actively harmful to the wrong deck — taking a relic that blocks potions or shuts off card rewards can quietly end a run you were winning. Meanwhile a common relic found at the right moment in Act 1 often contributes more to actually finishing the run than a boss relic you never build around. Rarity is a rough guide to ceiling, not to value.
Four things move a relic up or down, and everyone weights them differently. Character comes first — the Ironclad, Silent, Defect and Watcher want genuinely different effects, which is why serious players rank per character rather than in one combined list. Deck archetype is next: the same relic is superb in one build and dead weight in another. Ascension level shifts the whole board toward sustain and consistency as the difficulty climbs. And timing matters more than people admit — a relic that would have won you the run in Act 1 can be almost irrelevant by the time you find it in Act 3.

Energy relics are the strongest category — an extra energy every turn improves every deck you could possibly build. Beyond those, Snecko Eye and Runic Pyramid are the boss relics that most often define a run, while Dead Branch paired with card exhaust is the classic game-breaking combination.
No. Boss relics are more powerful but most carry a real downside, and several are actively bad for the wrong deck. A well-timed common relic like Bag of Preparation or Anchor can matter more in the early Acts than a boss relic you cannot build around.
Heavily. Relics that are excellent for the Ironclad can be mediocre for the Silent or the Defect, and the Watcher values different effects again. Most experienced players rank relics per character rather than in one combined list.
Because relic value depends on deck archetype, character, Ascension level and when in the run you find it. A relic that wins the game in Act 1 can be nearly dead by Act 3, so two reasonable rankings often look nothing alike.
Yes — hit Add items and type them in, one per line. The pre-loaded tray covers the original game, so add or swap in whichever relics you want to rank.
